About the author

Angelica Rhodes

Angelica Rhodes is a writer, lifelong food nerd, and proud dog mom to Charlie — a mixed-breed pup with shiny hair, soulful eyes, and very strong opinions about broccoli. Part terrier, part dachshund, part hound, and all personality, Charlie was adopted with a bottomless appetite and no standards whatsoever. Together, they’ve learned just how joyful (and surprisingly doable) real food for dogs can be.

With a background in writing and research, Angelica has spent years exploring holistic nutrition, functional medicine, and ancestral health — first for her own healing, and later for Charlie’s. When she saw the difference real food made in both their lives, everything clicked: dogs deserve better, too. She’s not a vet or a pet food manufacturer — just someone who read every label, took every course she could find, and tested every recipe in her own kitchen (with Charlie’s enthusiastic approval). The Joyful Bowl Series is what she wished she had at the start: practical, honest, and full of common sense.

Angelica lives with her family, Charlie, a suspicious number of glass storage containers, and a slow cooker that’s always up to something.
